Here I'd like you all to put in your information about Media. Think of making about a one page summary of all the aspects of Media - Advertising, Bias, News and Public Opinion. I'd also like it if here you could show some proof of having searched for new articles/information on this topic by pasting in links to other news articles you've found and then putting in a summary of how the article demonstrates the Media issues as we've discussed them.

For the media option, we have the following sources/references:

-Fox News and other news companies
-Alcohol Ads
-Female displayed Ads
with themes of:
-Biased
-Public Opinion
-Discrimination
Most important media tools used:
-Symbols: Words or images symbolizing power, religion, emotions etc.
-Humor: Appeals to Emotion

I did some more research on media influence and found the following:
This article deals with ads directed towards children. As these influence parents in consumption, they make up a
whole market, which is aimed by many companies. The point is that kids are easier to manipulate and convinced by certain products.
Teresa, the author of the article, does also emphasize on the role of parents in order to protect children from dangerous ads, like alcohol and sex
ads. More communication and awareness about its effect could help to lower the risk.
The second article shows how much the media has grown in resent decades and also gives evidence for media giants behind it.
A monopolistic (rather oligopoly actually) market is given nowadays, so that few companies control the whole market, there influence is
extremely high accordingly. Then it talks about the effect on young people, including group pressure and self actualization.
Violence in media and the public influence are also discussed in the article, which are also supported with several videos, that visualize
its effects.
Both articles emphasize on media and its effects on people, which is very relevant for the upcoming Essay in May.
Cheers Guys!
